2006 3v3 Soccer Rules
Players:
- Roster finalized by a team's first game
- Age as of 8/1/06 determines bracket
- CARRY PROOF OF AGE (Valid player pass, birth certificate)
- We will try to place teams into divisions with similar players and playing experience
- Five players max on a team; three field players and two substitutes. No goalkeepers.
- Sub on any dead-ball situation. Teams must get the referee's to enter and exit at mid-field. There are no substitutions on the fly
- Must wear jersey & shin guards. Each team must bring both a light and dark colored jersey. If the two teams are wearing the same color jersey , a coin flip in pool play will determine which team must change
- Players may only play on (one) team per division
- Plan for 3-4 games in the tourneyGame:
- Field approx. 40 by 30 yards; goal box, 10' long by 6' high, no ball contact allowed in goal box
- Contest 12 - minutes halves
- GOAL may only be scored from team's offensive half
- NO OFFSIDES, NO SLIDE TACKLING, 5-YARD RULE on dead ball
- KICKINS for all starts are indirect except corner & penalty
- GOAL KICKS from anywhere on end-line
- KICK-OFF in any directions
- PENALTY KICKS is dead ball kick from midfield
- Deliberate HAND BALL - red card. Players with 2 yellow cards @ game or 3 @ tournament are suspended next game. Red carded player is suspended next game, leaves the playing area, team finished shortPool Play:
- Scoring: 3 points for win, 1 for tie, 0 for loss with tiebreakers
- For teams that are tied in record, if one team forfeited a game, they are lower seed
- For teams tied in record where one team received a forfeit, games against the teams forfeiting are not counted when figuring the tiebreaker
- In pool play, ties between 3 or more teams will be broken by1. Head to head results between the tied teams
2. Goal difference in head to head games, 4 goal maximum
3. Goals against in head to head games
4. Goal difference in pool play games
5. Goals against in pool play games
6. Shootout (3 players will enter a rotation of penalty kick alternating teams with each kick, with the higher scoring team winning after the first round. If the score remains tied after the first round of penalty kicks, the same 3 players will alternate in the same order in a sudden death penalty kick format until one team scores unanswered)Playoff overtime:
- Shall consist of a 3-minute overtime period with a coin toss to decide kickoff/direction. The first team to score in overtime is the winner
- If no team has score in the 3-minute overtime, the winner shall be decided by a shootout. The 3 players from each team remaining on the field at the end of the overtime period, will enter a rotation of penalty kick alternating teams with each kick, with the higher scoring team winning after the first round. If the score remains tied after the first round of penalty kicks, the same 3 players will alternate in the same order in a sudden death penalty kick format until one team scores unansweredForfeits:
- Any team forfeiting two consecutive games in pool play will be removed from the tournament. Any team forfeiting one game in the playoffs will be removed from the tournamentProtests:
- Formal protests must be submitted to the tournament director within 30 minutes of completion of the game. A $50.00 fee for all formal protest will be charged to the submitting party. If tournament committee rules in favor of submitting party, the $50.00 fee shall be returned
- Referee judgment calls are not grounds for protest
- Videotape is not acceptable as a form of protest or decision review
- The Tournament Director will make a decision within 30 minutes of the protest form being submittedTournament Director:

- Players, coaches and spectator must maintain good sportsmanship at all times
- FIGHTING, ABUSE OF THE REFEREES OR OTHERS, VERBAL OR OTHERWISE, WIL NOT BE TOLERATEDPre-registration:
- Friday, August 4th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the WYOMING VALLEY SPORTS DOME, WILKES-BARRE, PA
- All teams must register at 7:30PM on Saturday, August 5th

Goal Size:
Ball Information:
- Tournament will provide a minimum of 5 balls.
- One ball only permitted to kick to the goalie-
- Standard size 5 soccer balls will be used for all U-12 and older battles
- Size 4 balls will be used for all U-11 and younger playersPlayer Information:
- 2 players (Goalie and kicker) participate in a shootout.
- 5 shots for $5.00 - just like penalty kicks.
- Ball handlers retrieve and supply balls to the player for distribution
