Colleen
McDonald and Lauren D'Amico at the Zico Training Center in
Rio de Janiero. Both girls are playing as part of the Girls
U16 International Trip to Brazil.
Colleen plays for Wyoming Valley SC and Lauren plays for the
FC Pennsylvania Strikers. Both girls have signed Division I
Committments. Colleen will be playing for Drexel and Lauren
for Colgate.
Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is excited for the
opportunities that these 2 great girls have earned themselves
through their play on the field.

Year 2012 Today's
newsletter is about " giving you a chance"
Too often, I have heard
players say "if only the coach would give me a
chance....". The thing to realize is coaches don't give
players chances. Players EARN chances. If you want to
show you can score goals in a game, first show it in
training. If you want to show you are a better keeper
than the starting keeper, first show it in training. if
you want to show you deserve to play an entire game but
now are only getting play half the game, then show it in
the half you are getting. It is easy to say what you
could do if given a chance, the key is to show it WHEN
given a chance. I do realize there are many players who
feel they are "gamers" and don't show well in training
but if they want to earn the right to show in games,
they need to first show in any opportunity they can.
Don't wait to be given an opportunity, if you want the
chance, take advantage of any opportunities you can.

The Coach's Advice for
players.
Have no fear:
People concentrate too much on what others will say
about them. If you know you can do something, just do
it.
Show up every Day:
No matter how hard the previous day was, never give up.
It's okay to be
afraid:
But it is not okay to run
away from what you're afraid of.
Make good
Decisions: To do
that, you must trust your instincts and listens to the
coaches around you.

1998 - 2012
WVSC started as 25 players in
1998. Today, we have 14 teams from ages U-5 through U-18 that compete in
various leagues in Pennsylvania and Region I. The club is located in
Wilkes-Barre, PA.
WVSC teams have had a long history of
success, from league play to tournaments to cups at the state levels.
Our teams compete in the EPYSA Region I League, the Philadelphia Area
Girls Soccer (PAGS), Delco Soccer League (Boys league in Philadelphia). Our
young teams play in the Lehigh Valley Youth Soccer League (LVYSL).
WVSC players have had success with their
teams and beyond . Many of our players participate in Olympic
Development Program (ODP) at the state and regional levels. Our players
have lead their high school teams and many have gone on to have
successful collegiate careers. The Club philosophy is to develop our
players so that they are prepared to compete at the next level.
